Publishing services is a category with a bad reputation, and it earned it. Authors get sold packages they did not need, sign contracts that quietly take a slice of their rights, and find out afterwards that the files belong to somebody else. If you have read Writer Beware, or you know someone who got burned, you already know this.
So the useful thing we can do on a page like this is not tell you how passionate we are. It is tell you exactly what the arrangement is.
You hire us for specific production work. Editing, layout, cover, illustration, audiobook, author site, retailer setup. We do that work, you approve it stage by stage, and at the end you get the finished files and the accounts in your name. The copyright stays yours the whole way through. Nothing we produce is licensed back to us. If you want to take the whole thing to someone else next year, you can, and you do not need our permission.
If your manuscript needs a structural edit and nothing else, that is what we will say, even though it is a smaller job than the package. If your category is too crowded to be worth advertising into, we will say that before you spend on ads. If the book is not ready, we will tell you it is not ready.
That is not modesty. A company that recommends everything to everyone is not reading manuscripts, and you can usually tell within one conversation which kind you are talking to.
We work with authors across the US from 7900 Sudley Rd, Manassas, VA 20109. You can reach us on (301) 246-0557 or at sales@publisherinusa.com.
Our reviews are on Trustpilot. We do not publish testimonials on our own site, because testimonials a company prints about itself are worth roughly nothing and everyone knows it.
